I spent 50 bucks on processing prints from the weekend. They were a day late because of the holiday, and could have been later. I got them, and they skipped one of the Photo floppies that I ordered and paid for. It took 10 minutes to find the prints, because the lab tech mis-filed them. It’s not like there’s a field on the envelope where you write your last initial REALLY BIG or anything. Then, I got to hear the people behind the counter bicker back and forth about who misplaces more rolls of film. On top of this, I had to buy another film box to put my prints in, because my two boxes are full.

I’m so DONE with film.

At these prices, I’ll pay for a Canon Powershot G2 with the cost of film and processing. And, I won’t have to deal with nitwits and someone else doing the processing. I might like film more if I had my own darkroom, but shooting film then handing it (and a large chunk of change) off to someone else is getting old.

I could use the digital for all of my “traditional” shooting, and switch back to online developing with no prints (jpg only) for LomoPix, and save a helluva lot of money. That makes more sense, actually - Lomos complement digitals nicely - a digital can replace a point-and-shoot camera and an SLR, but not a Lomo.
