Here I go again… I’m getting ready to put a big film order in, trying to get an order over the $100.00 minimum. All this for Lucky film for my LOMO…
It works out to 40 rolls of film, which, with the associated processing cost would cost more than a Canon Powershot G2. It’s tempting to move most of my “creative” shooting to digital, and save my film shooting for rangefinders and LOMO work. I don’t think I could totally switch over - shooting black and white, shooting “Sunny 16″ without a meter, and available light shooting with a LOMO are all parts of photography I really enjoy.
I could sell my Rebel 2000 and recoup some of the costs of a digital - it’s in mint condition. Traveling would be much easier, without film to worry about.
Maybe I should concentrate on shooting with my S100 for a while, and get into the hang of digital again. It’s only 2.1 megapixels and doesn’t have the controls that a G2 has, but I can practice on it and get better with Photoshop before committing to another digital camera.
Digital today, I shopped for a Voightlander Bessa R-2 yesterday. I should make up my mind…
