My vacation pictures are trickling in. I received the second batch of pictures from my Vegas/Arizona/New Mexico trip — they’re online at http://www.kataan.org/gallery/sw. I still have 3 remaining rolls that I found in the bottom of my backpack after I got back; they’re at the photo lab as I type this.

I used York Photo for the second batch of films. I didn’t want to deal with airport scanning equipment, so I bought 4 rolls of Fuji SuperHQ 100 at Wal-Mart in Vegas. Once I had 4 rolls to go, I sent them in a York mailer from Taos, NM, avoiding the return-trip scan. I did shoot one roll of Kodak Portra 400NC which got scanned going out to Vegas, and the pictures look OK. I guess the scanners aren’t as damaging as people claim.
