Journal, or blog?

I started writing online content on my web site back in 2000, the hard-coded way - hand-hacking html using vi. I started using blogger to post blog content to my web site, but lately I’ve limited my web site to photo-blog status and posted all of my blog content here.
I started off using [...]

Last night’s run…

I bought a pair of dry-fit running tights, and so I went on a run to try them out last night. The temperature was in the high 50s, there was a crescent moon out, partly cloudy, and no wind. The clouds helped keep in some of the heat and helped reflect the moonlight. Lots of [...]

Before the internet, there was the phone system…

John Perry Barlow once said that “Cyberspace is where you are when you’re on the telephone…” and there’s a semblance of truth to his statement.

Fried…

I tried for 6.25 miles, burned out at 4. It’s another hot day out here, and I’m definitely feeling the burn from my run on sunday.
Today’s run left me at 49.2 miles on the month; if I can find an opportunity to sneak in another run, I’ll break 50 miles for the third consecutive month.
Postscript: [...]

It’s going to be a good day…

My mother-in-law is coming over, and she’s taking my son to go over to my sister-in-law’s house for an overnighter. I’m going to go for a nice long run today, my wife and I are going to go to dinner and a movie, and then home to a night of UNINTERRUPTED SLEEP.

Haunting music

I’ve become a big fan of Stan Ridgway. Yes, that Stan Ridgway, the guy who sang for Wall of Voodoo’s seminal 80’s contribution to one-hit-wonder compilations, “Mexican Radio”.
Over the years, I’ve followed his solo career and seen him evolve into a multi-faceted songwriter, performer, and storyteller. His music can take you to a mythical place [...]
