Back to Dead Tech…
Add T-Mobile to the list of cellular carriers who can’t provide decent cell coverage in my neighborhood. The “can’t list” is long, the only provider in the “can list” is Verizon.
I’m on-call at work, and was hoping to switch to a Blackberry to consolidate telephone and email requests into one device, and have a place to keep all of the information I’d need on a support request.
I brought home a T-Mobile Blackberry, and had no service in my home office (where I’d respond to any on-call request). Upstairs in my breakfast nook I got on-again, off-again service.
Now it’s back to my personal (Verizon) cell phone and a 2-way pager.
My Palm Vx battery has stopped holding a charge, so I’m back to a disposable battery-powered Palm IIIx I bought in 1999.
At least the old tech is dependable (and I don’t toss anything out). The next step downwards is a DOS PC, paper planner and touch-tone desk phone.
Maybe I’ll wait until Verizon gets the Treo 650s in stock. ![]()
