Everything’s new…

My son is starting to eat solid food. We’re trying one new food a day, 3 days in a row to make sure he doesn’t have a reaction to it, then moving on to another new food.

He’s curious as to what the fuss about food is; he sees us eating and wonders what the heck we’re doing. Today, he tried winter squash for the first time, and my mind boggled at the notion that not only is this the first time he’s had squash, but the first time he’s had FOOD. Imagine what life would be like if EVERYTHING was new.

I watched the VH1 Bands Re-United episode with <a href=http://www.vh1.com/shows/dyn/bands_reunited/74723/episode_about.jhtml>Kajagoogoo</a>. Now I’ve got the riff to “Too Shy” stuck in my head and it won’t get out.

They all looked pretty good, Jez hadn’t drummed since he left the band, and Nick and Limahl hugged at the end. Limahl got a little teary.

I admit it - I’m a creature of the ’80s. I still have all of Kajagoogoo’s albums on vinyl in my garage. I think I have a picture saved somewhere of me with my total 80’s ‘do, highlighted in the front, big on top, short on the sides and back, sort of a Paul Young meets Howard Jones meets the guy from the Thompson Twins. It went well with those slouchy boots, preppy button-down shirts and a sweatervest.

We already had a 70’s fashion return, when do the 80’s come back? I could make a mint on Ebay!
