Mobile Phone carriers suck…
(Every one except Verizon, that is…)
How come Verizon is the only carrier who can manage to get coverage in my neighborhood? I’m no more than 20 minutes away from San Francisco in Oakland, and yet TMobile and Cingular/ATT can’t manage to get enough cell towers around here to provide service.
Because of a outage notification glitch (and my desire NOT to use a personal cell phone for business unless they PAY me) I brought home a Tmobile Blackberry 7230. In my home office, I get no signal. If I leave it upstairs near a window, I might get 1 bar, but it fades in and out.
I’d use a pager for coverage, but ironically, the one place where my pager doesn’t work is in Healdsburg, where I spend quite a few weekends. Since paging is slowly dying off, the chances of anyone upgrading their pager networks are nil. That’s a bummer, since I like the paging networks for what they’re built for - sending and receiving short messages anywhere.
So, it’s back to my personal mobile phone.
