The Laptop Herring
organization / productivity September 8th, 2007
I’m guilty of bringing my laptop to meetings – too often I’m brought into meetings to make sure my group doesn’t have some responsibility – unfortunately, the powers that be sometimes aren’t very good at knowing who does what. As a result, I often get stuck in meetings I have no input on.
My compromise has been to sit in the back with my laptop, use our wireless connection, and work in the background. I’m going to start asking if I have any involvement early on, then leave.
If you’re like me, please read this article, called The Laptop Herring, immediately.
