Diana Mini!

film, journal, lomo August 19th, 2009

The Lomographic society announced the Diana Mini this morning; the microsite is here.

One thing I did not expect – a square format?

I’ve always liked composing and shooting square format, but I rarely do so because of the cost of 120 film. Being able to shoot square format on 35mm and process it normally would be very cool!

My film processor’s going to have a fun time with 18×24 half-frame and 24×24 square shots intermixed!

From the microsite:

The results can be fantastic, but don’t be surprised if you become public enemy no.1 at you local developers! Swapping formats confuses the developing machines and the developers!

Some other nice surprises – a Bulb setting, tripod mount and a cable release attachment. This will be a fun long exposure  camera and a great addition to my toy camera collection. The Diana Mini will be a nice addition to my 35mm toy camera collection.

(Kicks myself for using up all my PiggyPoints to restock my freezer with Agfa Vista 400…)
