Cheap Coffee of the Week MR. COFFEE DARK ROAST
Posted at 5:00 am | Filed Under cheap coffee, cheap coffee of the week
I didn’t know Mr. Coffee sold coffee! This was on closeout at Walgreens, and brewed be a surprisingly nice cuppa. Medium to dark body, not overly bitter, and a nice punch to it – I made one cup to get me awake at oh-dark-hundred and made another cup in my travel mug for the road. [...]

Cheap Coffee of the Week, On the Road — 7-11
Posted at 7:56 am | Filed Under cheap coffee of the week, journal
Business and professional interests take me on the road often. Required for a lifestyle such as this is a luxurious ride and an extensive database of roadside coffee shops. 7-11 still carries a bad reputation from their truck-stop coffee days but cheap, quick, easily available 24/7 caffeine is always a win in my book. On a [...]

Cheap Coffee of the Week – DUNKIN DONUTS ORIGINAL BLEND
Posted at 8:51 am | Filed Under cheap coffee of the week, coffee
When it comes to cheap coffee, Dunkin Donuts is the proverbial 800-pound gorilla in the room. They’re making a play for America’s coffee pot and want to be a competitor to Starbucks in made-to-go coffee. At $6.00 for a 12 oz bag at my local Target store, however, DD enters the cheap coffee realm. While [...]

Cheap Coffee of the Week — CHASE AND SANBORN SPECIAL ROAST
Posted at 9:19 am | Filed Under cheap coffee of the week
This was another can’t-pass-it-up deal – $2.99 for 10.5 ounces at Walgreens. It’s a decent, medium-bold blend. I find myself making an afternoon cup on weekends. Normally, I never drink coffee on weekends after my morning cuppa. Part of that’s probably due to the lower oil/caffeine content. If I drank a cuppa freshly-ground Peet’s [...]

Cheap Coffee of the Week — FOLGERS CLASSIC ROAST
Posted at 11:41 am | Filed Under cheap coffee of the week
Folgers was on sale for $4.99/10.5 ounce can at Safeway. It’s nowhere near as smooth as Yuban Original, but rich with nuances of formica counters, leatherette and chrome stools, heavy diner mugs, pies in refrigerated cases and waitresses named Vera. The can went surprisingly fast. I’d buy another can, but I’m playing the coffee field [...]

Cheap Coffee of the Week — ARCHER FARMS ITALIAN ROAST

Decent coffee? AT TARGET? Cheap. $6.79/12 oz bag. Ground or whole bean. Italian, French, Columbian and Guatemalan blends. Surprisingly smooth, not the freshest beans in the bag, but buzzworthy. Worth a look. Target sometimes has small bags of coffee for $1 and online $1 off coupons. Doesn’t get much cheaper than FREE. Possibly Related Posts: [...]

Cheap Coffee of the Week — YUBAN ORIGINAL
Posted at 12:47 pm | Filed Under cheap coffee of the week, journal
This week’s installment of CCOTW is brought to you by Safeway grocery stores, who marked Yuban Original coffee in 12 oz. cans to $1.99. That’s less than a single Starbucks Latte! I’m making my coffee with a kettle and Melitta cone filter. No drip coffee maker I’ve found can get the water temperature to that [...]

Usually, I’ll drink bad coffee then post about it, but here’s a good one -Cafe Bustelo. The sysop of cool beans! BBS and editor of the Zine by the same name swears by CB. If you want cheap expresso with a kick, Bustelo is your game. It’s got a nice nutty hint, smooth, but not [...]

Cheap coffee of the Week — SAN FRANCISCO BAY COFFEE COMPANY
Posted at 8:58 am | Filed Under cheap coffee of the week, coffee, journal
I’ve taken on a whole new appreciation for Costco since becoming a parent. Large pallets of diapers, extra large cans of formula, and a single place to buy almost everything in one outing is a godsend when juggling around a business and a child. I’ve bought cheap coffee at Costco since going there with my [...]
