Violins, Coolpix 995

Violins at the Dickens Fair, 2018

I found a Nikon Coolpix 995 at my local thrift shop; mint condition, with a good battery, filter kit (circular polarizer, UV, and 2 neutral density filters), wide angle attachment, strap, charger and case – for $10.

I wanted one of these desperately when I first started shooting digital in 2001. For a 17 year-old camera, the amount of control is impressive. You’ve got full auto, full manual, aperture and shutter priority, several white balance settings and decent ISO range for the time.

I’ll write up a review in the next few weeks and share some more photos from it.
